Ekklesia Theatre

Ekklesia Theatre was founded by Chris Murphy in Vancouver, aiming to produce high-quality entertainment that is affordable for everyone. The organization's name, "Ekklesia," reflects its mission to gather people together for faith and storytelling.

• Pay-it-forward pricing model: For every ticket sold, a corresponding ticket is reserved for someone in need. Half of the seats for each show are free, and anyone can request them by emailing the organization.
• Debut production: "Ebenezer Scrooge's Big Vancouver Christmas Show!" will be performed December 13-22 at The Coffee Church in Vancouver.
• Future plans: Plans for a spring 2025 production and monthly events like spoken word performances, clean comedy shows, and music nights.
• Involvement: Everyone is welcome, regardless of background or beliefs. Volunteers, cast members, and community participants come from all walks of life.

Play Street Museum

Play Street Museum, owned by Sara Mixer, opened in Salmon Creek in October. The museum offers 1.5-hour play times by reservation every weekday from 8:30 am-6 pm, costing $16 per child per session.

• Play by reservation model: Kids come in all at the same time, making transitions easier for the little ones.
• Special events: Birthday parties and field trips are hosted, plus special events throughout the year.

Come Serve With Me Volunteer Fair

The Come Serve With Me Volunteer Fair, held last month at Seton Catholic High School, matched over 250 volunteers with 35 nonprofit organizations.

• Booths: Nonprofit organizations showcased their work at the event.
• Questions: Prospective volunteers had the opportunity to ask questions and learn about upcoming projects.
• Fun activities: Raffle, face painting, and balloon art were also part of the event.
• Sponsorship: The event was sponsored by JustServe and Good Works Clark County.
