Job Summary
As the Assistant Director of Front Office, you would be responsible for directing and administering all Front Desk operations in the hotel's continuing effort to deliver outstanding guest service and financial profitability. Provides assistance with rooms financial reporting as needed and provides directional support and guidance to the property Guest Loyalty Manager. Management‑level associates are expected to work as much of each workday as is necessary to complete their job responsibilities. Exempt managers must customarily and regularly direct the work of at least three full‑time associates or their equivalents. Primary duties consist of administrative, executive, or professional tasks more than 50 % of the time and involve discretion and independent judgment more than 50 % of the time.
Responsibilities
- Assist with directing and administering all Front Office operations, including guest service and registration (check‑in/check‑out), room inventory and availability, guest service standards and initiatives, product quality, cost controls, overall profitability, brand marketing initiatives, systems use and management, budgeting and forecasting, department management, policy and procedure implementation and enforcement, and meeting participation and facilitation.
- Monitor and develop associate performance, providing supervision, professional development, scheduling, counseling, evaluations, and recognition/reward.
- Monitor and assess service and satisfaction trends, evaluate and address issues, and implement improvements.
- Initiate and implement marketing and up‑selling techniques to promote hotel services and facilities, maximizing room occupancy and revenue.
- Implement and monitor all corporate marketing programs.
- Ensure associates have current knowledge of hotel products, services, facilities, events, pricing, policies, and local area information.
- Run and complete daily reports, analyze data, and make data‑driven decisions.
- Resolve guest issues and concerns to achieve guest satisfaction.
- Recruit, interview, and train associates.
- Participate in the Property Manager on Duty program.
- Respond to emergencies, including operation of the fire panel and communication with police and fire departments.
- Complete assigned tasks or projects as required.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business or Hospitality Management with at least 3 years of progressive Front Office management experience in a 500+‑room hotel with meeting space (preferred).
- Applicable Associate’s degree with at least 1 year of Guest Services management experience (required).
- Specific brand experience/OnQ (PMS) certification (as defined by property) – preferred.
- 500+‑room hotel experience – preferred.
- Previous management‑level experience – preferred.
