Courtesy Clerk/Grocery Bagger

Responsibilities

• Bag groceries at check-out for customers
• Avoid damage to items during bagging
• Assist customers with loading bags into their cars
• Perform basic shelf conditioning
• Inform customers of grocery specials
• Return merchandise to store shelves
• Clean spills, collect and pick up trash inside and outside the store
• Handle and assemble seasonal merchandise
• Conduct price checks for cashiers
• Reinforce safety programs by identifying and reporting unsafe conditions
• Adhere to food safety regulations
• Practice preventive maintenance by inspecting equipment and reporting repairs
• Create a welcoming environment for customers
• Answer questions about products sold within the department and throughout the store
• Manage conflicts in a non-confrontational manner
• Act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information
• Follow directions and seek assistance when necessary
• Support and assist through direct interaction with minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults

Qualifications

Minimum qualifications:

• Customer Service skills
• Effective communication skills

Desired qualifications:

• Previous retail experience (not required)
