Responsibilities

• Bags groceries at check-out for customers.
• Ensures contents or items are not damaged while bagging at least five items per customer.
• Fulfills best practices for bagging items in various types of bags (reusable/plastic/paper).
• Aids customers in removing merchandise from bascarts for checkout.
• Offers assistance with loading bags into cars.
• Performs basic shelf conditioning.
• Inform customers of grocery specials.
• Restores returned merchandise to store shelves.
• Cleans spills, collects, and picks up trash inside the store and parking lot.
• Cleans all areas inside and outside the store.
• Handles and assembles seasonal merchandise.
• Knows the store's layout, locates products, and conducts price checks for cashiers.
• Supports safety programs by complying with safety procedures and identifying unsafe conditions.
• Adheres to food safety regulations and guidelines.
• Practices preventive maintenance by inspecting equipment and notifying appropriate departments or store managers of any items needing repair.
• Creates an environment that enables customers to feel welcomed, important, and appreciated by answering questions about products sold within the department and throughout the store.
• Works cooperatively in high-paced and sometimes stressful environments.
• Manages conflict in a reasonable, non-confrontational, and cooperative manner.
• Acts with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information.
• Follows directions and seeks assistance when necessary to resolve customer and business issues.
• Provides support and assistance through direct interactions with minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults.

Qualifications

• Customer service skills.
• Effective communication skills.
• Previous retail experience is preferred but not required.
