Responsibilities
- Bags groceries at check out for customers
- Ensures contents or items are not damaged while bagging at least five items per customer
- Fulfills best practices for bagging items in various types of bags (reusable/plastic/paper)
- Affords to help customers with loading bags into their car
- Performs basic shelf conditioning
- Offers information on grocery specials to customers
- Retrieves merchandise from store shelves
- Gathers bascarts and returns them to designated areas
- Cleans spills, collects, and picks up trash inside store and parking lot
- Cleans all areas inside and outside of store
- Handles and assembles seasonal merchandise
- Understands the store's layout and conducts price checks for cashiers
- Enforces safety programs by complying with safety procedures and identifying unsafe conditions
- Adheres to food safety regulations and guidelines
- Performs preventive maintenance by inspecting equipment and notifying appropriate department or store manager of any items in need of repair
Qualifications
- Customer Service skills
- Effective communication skills
- Previous retail experience is preferred but not necessary
