Responsibilities
- Bags groceries at check-out for customers
- Ensures contents or items are not damaged while bagging at least five items
- Fulfills best practices for bagging items in various types of bags (reusable/plastic/paper)
- Aids in removing customer's merchandise from bottom of basket for checkout
- Offers to help customers with loading bags into their car
- Performs basic shelf conditioning
- Inform customers of grocery specials
- Restores returned merchandise to store shelves
- Gathers bascarts and returns them to designated areas
- Cleans spills, collects, and picks up trash inside store and parking lot
- Cleans all areas inside and outside of store
- Handles and assembles seasonal merchandise
- Understands the store's layout, locates products, and conducts price checks for cashiers
- Reinforces safety programs by complying with safety procedures and identifying unsafe conditions, accidents, or issues and notifying store management
- Adheres to all food safety regulations and guidelines
- Practices preventive maintenance by properly inspecting equipment and notifying appropriate department or store manager of any items in need of repair
- Creates an environment that enables customers to feel welcome, important, and appreciated by answering questions regarding products sold within the department and throughout the store
- Adheres to all local, state, and federal laws, and company guidelines
- Works cooperatively in high-paced and sometimes stressful environments
- Manages conflict in a reasonable, non-confrontational, and cooperative manner
- Acts with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information
- Follows directions and seeks assistance when necessary to resolve customer and business issues
- Provides support and assistance through direct interaction with minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults

- Previous retail experience is preferred but not required
