Courtesy Clerk/Grocery Bagger

Responsibilities

• Bags groceries at check-out for customers.
• Ensures contents or items are not damaged while bagging at least five items per bag.
• Fulfills best practices for bagging items in various types of bags (reusable/plastic/paper).
• Affords assistance in removing customer’s merchandise from bottom of bascart for checkout.
• Offers assistance in loading bags into customers' cars.
• Performs basic shelf conditioning.
• Informs customers of grocery specials.
• Returns merchandise to store shelves.
• Gathers bascarts and returns them to designated areas.
• Cleans spills, collects, and picks up trash inside store and parking lot.
• Cleans all areas inside and outside of store.
• Handles and assembles seasonal merchandise.
• Understands the store's layout, locates products, and conducts price checks for cashiers.
• Reinforces safety programs by complying with safety procedures and identifying unsafe conditions, accidents, or issues.
• Adheres to all food safety regulations and guidelines.
• Practices preventive maintenance by properly inspecting equipment and notifying appropriate department or store manager of any items in need of repair.
• Creates an environment that enables customers to feel welcome, important, and appreciated by answering questions regarding products sold within the department and throughout the store.
• Adheres to all local, state, and federal laws, and company guidelines.
• Works cooperatively in high-paced and sometimes stressful environments.
• Manages conflict in a reasonable, non-confrontational, and cooperative manner.
• Acts with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information.
• Follows directions and seeks assistance when necessary to resolve customer and business issues.
• Provides support and assistance through direct interaction with minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults.
