Responsibilities

• Bag groceries at check-out for customers.
• Ensure that contents or items are not damaged while bagging at least five items per customer.
• Bag items in various types of bags (reusable/plastic/paper).
• Aid customers in removing merchandise from bascarts for checkout.
• Offer to help customers load bags into their cars.
• Perform basic shelf conditioning.
• Inform customers about grocery specials.
• Return merchandise to store shelves.
• Gather bascarts and return them to designated areas.
• Clean spills, collect, and pick up trash inside the store and parking lot.
• Clean all areas inside and outside of the store.
• Handle and assemble seasonal merchandise.
• Understand the store's layout and locate products for cashiers.
• Conduct price checks for cashiers.
• Reinforce safety programs by complying with safety procedures and identifying unsafe conditions.
• Notify store management of any unsafe conditions, accidents, or issues.
• Adhere to food safety regulations and guidelines.
• Practice preventive maintenance by inspecting equipment and notifying appropriate departments or store managers of any items needing repair.
• Create an environment that enables customers to feel welcomed, important, and appreciated by answering questions about products.
• Provide support and assistance through direct interaction with minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults.

Qualifications

• Customer service skills.
• Effective communication skills.
• Previous retail experience is preferred but not required.
