About the role

This recruitment will be used to fill a vacancy in the Alcohol & Drug Program (ADP) within Health Care Agency Behavioral Health Department. Programs Assistants generally plan, organize and perform a variety of technical monitoring, evaluation and reporting activities in support of line/operating program management; and performs related duties as required.

Responsibilities

  • Aiding the Administrator in identifying and writing grants
  • Representing ADP at meetings
  • Engaging in program development for treatment/recovery, intervention and/or prevention services
  • Leading and facilitating strategic planning efforts involving ADP staff, contract providers, and interested community members
  • Aiding with the review and management of contracts for service providers
  • Preparing review and analysis of program budgets
  • Establishing and maintaining a liaison relationship with the local court and probation agency and other community based organizations
  • Aiding with integration of Alcohol & Drug Programs and Mental Health services of the Behavioral Health Department
  • Interfacing with the Alcohol & Drug Advisory Board
  • Performing related duties as required

Requirements

Typical Qualifications: Any combination of education, training and experience which demonstrates possession of knowledge and abilities in the areas listed above. Strong preference will be given, and the eligible list may be limited to, candidates with experience and/or education in the field of alcohol & drug or chemical dependency. A California driver license is required by the time of appointment.
