Court Reporter/Voice Writer
About the role
The Superior Court of Contra Costa County is seeking Court Reporters to document court proceedings accurately and efficiently. The position requires a high school diploma, a CSR certificate, and proficiency with ACORN Notes Storage System.
Responsibilities
- Attend Court sessions and make verbatim stenographic records of proceedings
- Provide immediate read back of records upon request
- Prepare printed or magnetic media transcripts
- Utilize computer-aided or manual transcription to prepare transcripts
- Certify and file printed transcripts
- Provide real-time services upon request
- Maintain a variety of paper and electronic files
- Perform other related duties as required
Qualifications
- Knowledge of legal terminology and court proceedings
- Ability to record shorthand at a minimum of 200 words per minute with 97.5% accuracy
- Good interpersonal and oral communication skills
- Highly desirable qualifications include CART certification, NCRA certifications, and real-time capability

Pay
The base salary ranges from $112,051.47 to $129,713.17 annually. Additional pay differentials may apply based on certifications and real-time services provided.
Schedule
The position requires availability to be assigned to any court location and the ability to work independently and with others.
