About the Role

Provides professional Realtime reporting and transcribing for court proceedings, hearings and conferences. Employees in this classification have obtained their Registered Professional Reporter (RPR) certification through the National Court Reporters Association (NCRA) and have a completion of at least 96% accuracy on one of the following examinations: Certified Realtime Reporter (CRR), Certified Broadcast Captioner (CBC), Certified CART Provider (CCP) through the National Court Reporters Association (NCRA); or the Federal Certified Realtime Reporter (FCRR).

Responsibilities

  • Provides real time, verbatim court reporting services through stenographic shorthand for jury trials, preliminary hearings, motions hearings, and any applicable requested court proceedings.
  • Manages and maintains records and prioritizes transcript production.
  • Prepares required reports and documentation pursuant to Chief Justice Directive 05-03 and local policies and procedures.
  • Ensures backup of all stenographic notes, rough drafts, and completed transcripts including reporter dictionaries, CAT software files, and stenographic machine files.
  • Assists team members, works on various hearings and/or trials as a team, shares files and work product, and attends weekly meetings.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education and Experience Equivalency: Associate's degree or 2 years of college. Additional work experience in these or other related fields may be substituted on a year for year basis for the required formal education.

Work Related Experience: 1 to 3 years of court reporting experience.

Licenses and Certifications: RPR certification through the NCRA plus meet national standard for Realtime (96% accuracy on one of the applicable exams).

Pay

Full Time Salary Range: $69,728.40 - $101,106.00

This requisition is regarding position #21107 for a vacant court reporter position. This position is part of a progressive job series, and placement will be determined based on minimum qualifications and the relevant experience of the successful applicant.

There are four requisitions posted: Court Reporter I – Uncertified (Requisition Number: JD06473), Court Reporter II - Certified (Requisition Number: JD06474), Court Reporter III – Colorado Standard (Requisition Number: JD06475), and Court Reporter IV – CRR (Requisition Number: JD06476). We will fill one position within this series based on the district's hiring needs and the qualifications and relevant experience of the selected applicant.
