Court Registry Officer
About the role
As a Court Registry Officer, you will work with a team responsible for the successful operation of the District Court. Your responsibilities include case management, court taking, and customer service.
Responsibilities
- Ensure files are accurate and up to date through case management tasks such as data entry and decision-making.
- Run the court, including opening sessions in both English and Te Reo Māori, working with the judiciary, and handling administrative duties.
- Interact with customers via face-to-face, phone, or email, addressing any court-related matters.
Requirements
- Resilience to handle sensitive cases and high volumes at a fast pace.
- Detail-oriented and observant to ensure accuracy in case information.
- Self-awareness to understand and work effectively with diverse customers.
- Ability to multi-task and manage conflicting priorities.
- Willingness to learn and adapt to changes in legislation and court processes.
- Excellent communication skills, including proficiency in English and confident Te Reo Māori pronunciation.
- Confidence using audio-visual equipment.
- A positive attitude towards helping others in a busy courtroom environment.
Qualifications
To be successful, you should have a strong work ethic and be able to demonstrate your ability to meet the requirements listed above. No specific qualifications are required, but a background in customer service, legal assistance, or a related field may be beneficial.

Pay
The remuneration band for this role is $60,729 to $80,794. The appointing salary will be based on skills and experience.
Schedule
This role is available as a permanent, full-time position and a 11-month fixed-term, full-time role.
