About the role

The Office of Statewide Programs will have an opening for 2 (TWO) Court Designated Workers, the positions are located in Region 6, Oldham County.

Responsibilities

  • Process all juvenile intakes, including entering new referrals and generating complaints.
  • Conduct interviews and complete risk and needs screening.
  • Determine eligibility for diversion and develop appropriate intervention strategies.
  • Develop diversion agreements and monitor compliance with program requirements.
  • Provide case management services and coordinate referrals to community resources and treatment providers.
  • Maintain accurate case records and documentation in accordance with statutes, policies, and procedures.
  • Prepare reports, recommendations, and other required court documents.
  • Communicate and collaborate with courts, schools, law enforcement, service providers, and families.
  • Respond to inquiries and provide information regarding juvenile justice processes and available services.
  • Participate in on-call coverage.
  • Travel within the assigned service area and occasionally statewide to conduct meetings, attend court proceedings, participate in trainings, and support program operations.
  • Support early intervention efforts designed to reduce juvenile court involvement and improve outcomes for youth and families.
  • Attend required training and maintain knowledge of applicable laws, policies, and best practices.
  • Promote positive relationships with youth, families, and community partners while maintaining professionalism and confidentiality.

Requirements

Minimum Requirements:

  • Education: Associate degree in a job-related field, such as human services, criminal justice, psychology, sociology, or a related field.
  • Experience, Training, or Skills: One (1) year of job-related experience, to include working with youth and families, human services, criminal justice, and/or the juvenile justice system.
  • Special Requirements: None.

Working Conditions

Work is primarily performed in an office or similar indoor environment. Must have driver’s license and dependable transportation. Occasionally requires working with family situations involving heightened conflict, instability and potential volatility. Ability to travel throughout the assigned region and across the Commonwealth of Kentucky to attend meetings, trainings, conferences, court proceedings, and other program-related activities.
