Responsibilities

• Announces the opening and adjournment of court
• Maintains order in the court
• Serves notices of court actions
• Summons defendants and witnesses before the judge
• Performs a variety of court-related duties

Requirements

• Education: Graduation from high school (or equivalent experience substitution)
• General Experience: Three (3) years of work experience demonstrating ability to:
  • Read, comprehend and apply various instructions, procedures, rules and regulations
  • Write and type simple reports
  • Meet and deal effectively with people
• Substitution: Successful study in a Baccalaureate program (15 semester credit hours) may substitute for six months of experience, up to three years maximum.
• Driver's License: Current and valid driver's license required to operate a motor vehicle.
• Firearms Qualification (Lautenberg): Must be qualified to possess firearm or ammunition per state and federal laws (no misdemeanor or felony domestic violence conviction).
