Courier/Swing Drvr/DOT-4
About the role
Operates company vehicles to provide courteous and efficient delivery and pick-up of packages. Checks shipments for conformance to FedEx service features. Provides coverage for all assigned routes within the station’s service area. Performs related customer service functions.
Responsibilities
- Lifts and moves packages weighing up to 50 lbs.
- Moves packages weighing more than 50 lbs. using appropriate equipment and/or assistance.
- Communicates effectively with customers and colleagues.
- Demonstrates thorough knowledge of the station’s service area.
- Adapts to changing situations and maintains dependability.
- Ensures neat appearance due to customer contact.
- Maintains a safe and alert state of awareness.
Requirements
- High school diploma/GED
- Six (6) months courier experience preferred
- Area knowledge demonstration
- Ability to lift 50 lbs.
- Good human relations and verbal communication skills
- Thorough knowledge of the station's service area preferred
- Dependable and adaptable
- At least 21 years of age
- Read and speak English sufficiently
- Valid driver’s license in accordance with state requirements
- Good driving record

- Ability to lift 50 lbs.
- Ability to maneuver packages of any weight above 50 lbs. with appropriate equipment and/or assistance from another person.

- Dependable and adaptable.
Job Conditions
- Neat appearance since customer contact is required.
- Must meet and maintain qualifications as outlined in the federal motor carrier safety regulations.
- Requires medical exam in accordance with FMCSA or FAA regulations.

Monday - Friday 8am-7pm
