Courier/Swing Drvr/DOT-3

Responsibilities

• Operate company vehicles to deliver and pick up packages courteously and efficiently.
• Check shipments for conformance to FedEx service features.
• Provide coverage for all assigned routes within the station’s service area.
• Perform related customer‑service functions.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Minimum education: High school diploma or GED.
• Minimum experience: Six (6) months courier experience preferred.
• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• Ability to read and speak English sufficiently to understand traffic signs, communicate with traffic safety officials, and respond to official inquiries in accordance with FMCSA guidance.
• Must obtain and maintain a valid driver’s license appropriate for the assigned vehicle type and maintain a good driving record as outlined in company policy.
• Demonstrated knowledge of the station’s service area is preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Ability to lift 50 lb.
• Ability to maneuver packages weighing more than 50 lb using appropriate equipment or assistance.
• Good human‑relations and verbal communication skills.
• Thorough knowledge of the station’s service area (preferred).
• Demonstrated adaptability, dependability, and excellent courier methods.

Job Conditions

• Neat appearance required due to customer contact.
• Must meet and maintain qualifications outlined in federal motor carrier safety regulations.
• Medical exam required in accordance with FMCSA or FAA regulations.
• Non‑covered safety‑sensitive position.
• Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and maintain safety.
