Courier/Swing Drvr/CDL

Responsibilities

• Operates company vehicles and provides courteous and efficient delivery and pick up of packages.
• Checks shipments for conformance to FedEx features of service.
• Provides coverage for all assigned routes within the station's service area.
• Provides related customer service functions, including delivery, pick up or shuttle of dangerous goods packages requiring vehicle placarding.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Six months courier experience preferred.
• Minimum age 21 years.
• Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) with hazardous materials endorsement (HME) for assigned vehicle type.
• Good driving record as outlined in company policy.
• Must meet and maintain qualifications outlined in Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations.
• Pass FedEx Express and regulatory/statutory background checks or security threat assessments.
• Medical exam required.
• Subject to regulatory alcohol and drug testing (including marijuana, PCP, amphetamines, cocaine, opioids).
• Ability to read and speak English sufficiently to understand traffic signs, communicate with traffic safety officials, and respond to official inquiries per FMCSA guidance.

Skills

• Demonstrated area knowledge.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs.
• Ability to maneuver packages over 50 lbs using appropriate equipment or assistance.
• Good human relations and verbal communication skills.
• Thorough knowledge of the station's service area (preferred).
• Adaptability, dependability, and excellent courier methods.
• Neat appearance for customer contact.

Pay

$25.65 - $38.93 per hour

Schedule

Must be available to cover AM and PM shifts, 7 days a week based on operational need.
