Courier - Part Time (Stephenville, TX)

About the role

We are looking for a Courier - Part Time (Stephenville, TX) to travel to various dairy facilities to pick up milk samples. This is a part-time position located in Stephenville, TX. The facility operates 7 days a week, 365 days a year, and the role requires the ability to adjust to a flexible schedule as needed.

Responsibilities

• Pick up samples from clients at arranged times and deliver them to the laboratory.
• Provide courteous client service and communicate any emerging client requirements to the laboratory.
• Ensure departmental Standard Operating Procedures are followed at all times.
• Check samples regularly to maintain the correct temperature.
• Maintain records of mileage, vehicle maintenance, and other important information for departmental records.
• Maintain vehicle cleanliness and required maintenance.
• Run errands for laboratory personnel to ensure timely analysis.
• May assist laboratory personnel with preparation and analysis of samples.
• May assist laboratory personnel with washing laboratory equipment.
• Support corporate quality and continuous improvement processes.
• Identify departures from the quality system or test procedures and document observations in accordance with the prescribed complaint system.
• Adhere to all safety policies.
• Perform other related duties as needed.

Requirements

• Ability to operate a motor vehicle with a safe and stable driving record.
• Comfortable driving in all weather conditions for up to 12 hours at a time.
• Previous courier experience preferred.
• Client relation skills for interacting with clients during deliveries.
• Time management skills to facilitate pickups of all scheduled deliveries.
• Ability to maintain the safety and integrity of samples.
• High school diploma or GED, or equivalent relevant work experience.
• Ability to handle routine tasks following established delivery procedures.
• Problem-solving skills for standard issues such as delays due to traffic, samples not ready for pickup, or mechanical difficulties.
• Courier route may change with little notice; knowledge of the geographic area is helpful.

Physical Demands and Work Environment

• Works in a delivery vehicle during most of the day, subject to environmental conditions of each delivery.
• Lifting of up to 50-pound sample loads is required for daily deliveries.
• May work in a laboratory environment requiring the wearing of a mask, laboratory coat, and insulated gloves.
• Occasional exposure to laboratory fumes, chemicals, and materials.
• Extended time spent in a sitting position.

Pay

$15/hr
