Courier II
Overview
Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center is an independent, nonprofit organization providing adult cancer treatment and groundbreaking research focused on cancer and infectious diseases. Based in Seattle, Fred Hutch is the only National Cancer Institute-designated cancer center in Washington. With a track record of global leadership in bone marrow transplantation, HIV/AIDS prevention, immunotherapy and COVID-19 vaccines, Fred Hutch has earned a reputation as one of the world’s leading cancer, infectious disease and biomedical research centers. Fred Hutch operates eight clinical care sites that provide medical oncology, infusion, radiation, proton therapy and related services, and network affiliations with hospitals in five states. Responsibilities
- Complete all duties of Courier I and:
- Train couriers as needed.
- Maintains technical knowledge of all courier systems and assist with trouble shooting.
- Maintains knowledge of at least two campus routes and all medication courier routes.
Qualifications
- High School Degree, GED, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Minimum one year of courier or other relevant experience.
- Pharmacy Assistant license (must be able to attain a Pharmacy Assistant License within 45 days of hire).
- Valid Driver’s License.
- Basic computer skills.
- Ability to use effective customer service skills.
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions in an efficient, accurate and timely manner.
- Ability to communicate in person as well as in writing professionally and effectively.
- Excellent multi-tasking and interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge of computerized or automated system operations and record keeping practices.
- Basic math skills and knowledge of units of measure.
- Ability to lift to 50 pounds using proper techniques.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to consistently walk during the majority of an eight-hour shift and/or an average of 10-12 miles per day.
- Knowledge of safe blood borne pathogen handling techniques (preferred).
Pay
The hourly pay range for this position is from $22.22 to $31.63 and pay offered will be based on experience and qualifications.
