Overview
Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center is an independent, nonprofit organization providing adult cancer treatment and groundbreaking research focused on cancer and infectious diseases. Based in Seattle, Fred Hutch is the only National Cancer Institute-designated cancer center in Washington. Responsibilities
- Deliver all specimens, medications, and patient-related materials, accurately and within an appropriate timeframe.
- Monitor courier phone and manage shifting priorities to maintain route schedule (if applicable).
- Maintain courier logs, ensure courier entries are legible, accurate and adhere to standard written procedures.
- Report and assist with tracking of missing or damaged specimens, medications, and patient related materials.
- Aid in training new couriers as needed.
- Fill in for other routes as needed or other Supply Chain.
- Assist with storeroom duties during downtime.
- Adhere to departmental procedures and Fred Hutch policies.
Requirements
- A High School Degree, GED, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Pharmacy Assistant License (must be able to attain a Pharmacy Assistant License within 45 days of hire).
- Basic computer skills.
- Excellent multi-tasking and interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge of computerized or automated system operations and record keeping practices.
- Basic math skills and knowledge of units of measure.
- Ability to lift to 50 pounds using proper techniques.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to consistently walk for the majority of an eight-hour shift and/or average of 10-12 miles per day.
Preferred
- One year relevant experience preferred.
- Knowledge and practice of safe blood borne pathogen handling techniques.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals and carry out instructions in written, oral or diagram form.
Pay
The hourly pay range for this position is from $21.30 to $30.13 and pay offered will be based on experience and qualifications. This is a full-time position working Monday through Friday, 10:30am - 7:00pm, at our South Lake Union location.
