Job Responsibilities Courier Transports and delivers documents, family mementos, flowers, and similar articles safely to destination that may include family’s residence or funeral homeCourteously and professionally interacts with bereaved family members; exhibits sensitivity to environment; obtains signatures as requires; minimizes conversationRuns office errands such as post office, office supplies, food, or similar Transports caskets to airports, care centers, or cemeteries; may assist with moving casketsMay update software with delivery information. Vehicle Maintenance Washes, vacuums, and cleans vehicles ensuring vehicle is presentableFuels vehicles as necessary; following safety guidelines and expenditure processesIdentifies vehicle engine or operating issues to managementDrives vehicles for repair or inspection Other May assist Removal Technician with driving or lifting as neededAdditional responsibilities as requested or assigned Minimum Requirements Education High School Diploma or equivalent License Current state issued driver’s license with an acceptable driving record Experience At least one (1) year work experience as a courier or driver strongly preferredBasic computer skills are helpful Knowledge, Skills And Abilities Communicate professionally, clearly, and effectively Contribute to Team Success Work Conditions Work Environment Work indoors and outdoors during all seasons and weather conditionsSignificant amount of local and/or multiple location traveling requiredProfessional Dress is required when in contact with familiesCasual attire for vehicle maintenance Work Postures Frequent, continuous periods of time standing, up 2 hours per daySitting continuously for many hours per day, up to 2 hours per dayClimbing stairs to access buildings frequently Physical Demands Physical effort requiring manual dexterity is required, includes paperwork, calculators, computers and phone usagePhysical effort requiring attention to driving hazards, traffic, and weather conditionsAbility to lift up to 75 poundsAbility push/pull up to 200 pounds Work Hours Working beyond “standard” hours as the need arisesTravel up to 80% Schedule Monday through Friday Postal Code: 97213 Category (Portal Searching): Administration and Clerical Job Location: US-OR - Portland
