Courier

Reports to the Mailroom Lead.

About the role

The Courier is responsible for the pick-up and delivery of messages, documents, packages, and other items between offices and/or departments within the Company or directly to other businesses as needed.

Responsibilities

• Performs delivery tasks and pick-ups of office materials and correspondences in a polite, resourceful, and professional manner, including interactions with various levels of employees.
• Retrieves mail from the post office and delivers it to the corporate office daily.
• Loads and unloads a delivery truck using a variety of mechanisms.
• Plans and follows the most efficient routes for delivering goods in coordination with the Mailroom Lead.
• Completes the Daily Vehicle Inspection Report and confirms handoff to shop admin.
• Performs routine maintenance on the delivery vehicle, such as monitoring fluid levels and replenishing fuel.
• Communicates with the main office through a mobile device.
• Provides basic customer service and problem-solving between all sites.
• Records information, such as items received and delivered, recipients' responses to messages, and obtains signatures when required.
• Performs mailroom duties as assigned by the Mailroom Lead, including coordination with other departments such as Accounts Payable and Payroll.
• Performs occasional trips to and from the bank.
• Handles cash and/or checks in a secured interoffice manner as needed.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or G.E.D.
• 1-2 years of experience in a Courier/Mail Room role.
• Valid Class C Driver’s License.
• Acceptable driving record (H-6 printout will be requested).
• Safety conscious.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Problem-solving ability.
• Ability to perform physical requirements of the position with or without reasonable accommodations.

Preferred Qualifications

• Associate Degree.

• Walking, standing, and sitting frequently.
• Reaching, crouching, stooping, bending, and lifting up to 50 lbs occasionally.
• Eye/hand coordination continuously.
• Fingering (typing, picking), holding (grasping), feet (foot pedals), and wrist motion (flexion/rotation) frequently.
• Exposure to dust, smoke, fumes, odors, grease, oil, noise, and chemicals frequently.
• Exposure to outside elements (hot/cold/rain conditions) frequently.
• Walking on potentially slippery surfaces.

Pay

$23.15 - $25.45 per hour.
