Counterspace Analyst

About the role

We are looking for a seasoned analyst to join our counterspace team at the National Space Intelligence Center (NSIC), providing mission-critical analytic support to the warfighter and to national and joint-service customers. The candidate’s responsibilities will be to provide scientific and technical all-source intelligence on foreign counterspace control systems, equipment, and technologies, blending multi-INT analysis with a technical understanding of the ground-based architecture which enables foreign threat systems. The successful candidate will provide information discovery, compilation, analysis, and production on adversary space threat system characteristics, capabilities, performance, and vulnerabilities, and offer analytic tradecraft mentorship as needed.

Responsibilities

• Provide scientific and technical all-source intelligence on foreign counterspace control systems, equipment, and technologies.
• Blend multi-INT analysis with a technical understanding of ground-based architecture enabling foreign threat systems.
• Conduct information discovery, compilation, analysis, and production on adversary space threat system characteristics, capabilities, performance, and vulnerabilities.
• Offer analytic tradecraft mentorship as needed.
• Develop improved intelligence analytic methodologies.
• Brief decision makers on findings.
• Write analytic reports in accordance with ICD 203/206 standards.

Requirements

• Must be self-motivated and work well in both team and individual settings.
• Excellent organizational skills, ability to multi-task and set priorities.
• Knowledge of processes, databases, and tools of analytical tradecraft.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Strong technical writing skills.
• Experience in intelligence analysis on foreign space threat systems.
• Experience briefing decision makers on findings.
• Experience writing analytic reports.
• Active Top-Secret Clearance with SCI eligibility.

Qualifications

• BS Degree in Aerospace Engineering (or similar) and four years of experience or 8 years’ experience in lieu of degree.
