Counterparty Credit Risk Manager, Assistant Vice President

We are looking for a Counterparty Credit Risk Manager to join the Global CCR team, part of the wider Financial Risk team within the Enterprise Risk Management Division. This role focuses on overseeing credit risks from activities within State Street Markets (SSM) and Global Treasury. SSM, a division of State Street Bank & Trust Co., engages in capital markets activities including securities finance, funding and collateral transformation, and sales and trading in foreign exchange markets.

Responsibilities

  • Authorize trades for counterparties across Securities Financing Transactions (SFT), Over-the-Counter (OTC), and Prime Brokerage (PB) products based on pre-trade stress analysis and risk appetite.
  • Improve credit risk governance and monitoring practices across the CCR portfolio.
  • Contribute to enhancing the CCR limit framework and risk management systems to support new business products and initiatives.
  • Develop strong working relationships with traders, business analysts, support functions, and technology departments within SSM and other business units.
  • Contribute to risk and/or regulatory projects, independently driving assigned tasks forward.

Requirements

  • Relevant work experience in the financial services industry within credit risk management.
  • Knowledge of derivative products (FX, Interest Rates, and Equities) across SFT, OTC, and Prime Brokerage activities, including exposure models (PFE, VaR, etc.).
  • Ability to identify problems and limitations, propose solutions, or proactively address them directly.
  • Self-motivated with excellent time-management skills and the ability to work independently.
  • Strong teamwork and collaboration skills, fostering an environment that supports effective teamwork.
  • Strong critical thinking ability; promote and support a culture of challenge and risk excellence.
  • Comfortable with conflict resolution in a matrix organization.
  • Highest standards of conduct, integrity, and compliance with industry practices, company policies, statutes, and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

  • 4+ years of experience in a capital markets environment, with exposure to credit risk, counterparty risk, collateral management, or trading.
  • Graduate degree in a quantitative science, physics, mathematics, or quantitative finance.
  • Experience with a broad spectrum of fixed income products, financial quantitative techniques, and financial modeling.
  • Programming skills in SQL and Python; familiarity with statistics software or third-party tools such as Bloomberg and RiskMetrics is a plus.
  • Ability to provide prototype implementations and work closely with IT and other groups.
  • Strong verbal, written communication, and interpersonal skills to promote effective working relationships in a team-oriented environment.
  • Ability to write clear and precise technical documentation describing processes and risk methodologies.

Pay

$90,000 - $157,500 annual. The range applies to the primary location specified; if the candidate works outside this location, the applicable range may differ.
