Counter Technician

About the role

Perform a variety of customer servicing, order editing, pricing, writing, data entry, expediting, and related duties for connector products, industrial products, and fluid power products.

Responsibilities

• Receive and review inquiries and orders; verify correct identification of parts and assemblies required.
• Price orders following established practice or in conjunction with supervisor; refer questionable items for additional information.
• Contact customers to obtain additional information or provide application assistance and product recommendations.
• Create custom hose and tubing assemblies for customers while they wait.
• Enter orders into the computer with all pertinent data; finalize orders with pricing and delivery details.
• Work with supervisor on complex or major orders to prepare pricing or quotations.
• Check customer orders against quotations; edit, write, and enter into the computer system.
• Pick, pack, and ship orders; assist customers at the counter and make hose assemblies.
• Investigate and resolve customer inquiries and complaints regarding deliveries, pricing, or other matters.
• Coordinate activities with outside sales force, fabrication department, and other personnel; provide leads for new business.
• Perform daily cycle counting, resolve discrepancies, and update the inventory system; conduct full inventory counts twice yearly.
• Maintain sales, account, and cost records; prepare reports as instructed.
• Maintain product literature and obtain technical information from manufacturers.
• Travel to other Hope Group facilities in New England for company events, training, or coverage as needed (reimbursed per policy).
• Support The Hope Group Business Management System (BMS) procedures and work instructions; contribute to process improvements.
• Perform other related duties as assigned or directed by the supervisor.
