Counter Sales Associate / Back Up VMI Driver

About the role

We are hiring a Counter Sales Associate/Back Up VMI Driver in Ramsey, MN. This role combines high-energy customer interaction with meaningful operational support.

Responsibilities

• Partner with customers to provide industrial, medical, and specialty gases, welding equipment, and other essential supplies.
• Advise customers on the tools, hardware, and materials needed to complete their projects.
• Demonstrate equipment use and share insights on product quality to help customers pioneer new solutions.
• Step in to deliver and manage critical safety and consumable inventories for key local customers.
• Welcomes and assists walk-in and telephone call-in customers, identifying their specific product needs and locating merchandise.
• Accurately complete and file all required paperwork on a timely basis.
• Enter sales & quote data into the computer system using strong research skills.
• Process customer payments for merchandise or services sold.
• Organize and restock store merchandise, maintaining showroom cleanliness and presentation.
• Coordinate the delivery and replenishment of various industrial products, vending machines, or storeroom items to support customers' daily operations.
• Monitor and maintain dedicated branch inventory levels for proper replenishment.
• Track and turn in delivery tickets and consignment fill tickets to keep operations running smoothly.
• Deliver and replenish various industrial products, vending machines, or storeroom items directly to customers.
• Perform basic troubleshooting and light repairs on mechanical vending systems as needed.
• Review and manage manual stock levels of various inventories across multiple plant departments for timely reorders.
• Maintain dedicated branch inventory levels to ensure seamless, proper replenishment.
• Move up to 60 pounds and transport up to 125 pounds, with material handling equipment provided to assist.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum of 2+ years of experience in product, warehouse, or sales environments (equivalent combination of education and unique life experience may also be considered).
• Frequent use of computer and telephones, occasional use of a forklift, pallet jack or other material handling equipment.

• Excellent customer service skills.
• Ability to multi-task.
• Ability to routinely move up to 60 pounds and move more than 60 pounds with the aid of material handling equipment.
• Valid drivers license, Motor Vehicle Report will be run.
• Must be able to operate in a drug-free workplace.

Qualifications

• Intermediate knowledge of Google and/or MS Office Applications.
• A detailed understanding of SAP and PROS functionalities.
• The ability to communicate clearly and warmly with a wide variety of people from different backgrounds.
• Forklift preferred.

Pay

$23-$25 per hour based on experience, with Bonus opportunities!
