About the role
We are hiring a Counter Sales Associate in Omaha, NE to join our team. This role requires a strong focus on customer service and problem-solving in a dynamic, industrial environment.
Responsibilities
- Serve as a trusted guide, advising customers on the tools, hardware, and materials needed to complete their projects.
- Demonstrate equipment use to build customer confidence.
- Manage order entry and processes transactions.
- Assist the team with the reconciliation of deposits.
- Coordinate via phone, e-mail, and in person with customers and team members to provide helpful information on costs and delivery.
- Contribute to an outgoing call strategy to support the continued growth and success of the branch.
- Cook up to 20% of the time to prepare meals for the team.
- Coordinate the transfer of merchandise between locations to meet customer needs.
- Maintain a positive work atmosphere by acting and communicating in a supportive manner with customers, vendors, and colleagues.
- Stocks shelves and maintains welcoming showroom displays to provide an excellent customer experience.
- Partners with customers to identify the best tools and procedures for their specific tasks.
Requirements
- HS Diploma or equivalent required.
- Minimum of 2+ years of experience in product, warehouse, or sales environments (we also value an equivalent combination of education and unique life experience).
- Excellent customer service skills and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced setting.
- Experience in industrial retail, inside sales, or inventory control is a plus.
- Attention to detail in handling transactions.
- Availability for occasional overtime when the team needs extra support.
- Must be able to operate in a drug-free workplace.
Qualifications
- A background in gas, welding, or safety supplies is a wonderful asset.
- Familiarity with SAP, Google, or MS Office Applications.
- A detailed understanding of SAP and PROS functionalities.
- The ability to communicate clearly and warmly with a wide variety of people from different backgrounds.
