We are looking for a friendly, upbeat, and reliable Counter Host to join our team at CurrentBurger. The Counter Host is the first and last point of contact for our guests, providing great service with a positive attitude.
About CurrentBurger
Times change, but burgers never go out of style. Inspired by classic soda shops, this casual eatery serves a variety of elevated comfort foods, including juicy smash burgers and hand-spun milkshakes. Eat in, or pick up your order from our take-out window bordering Waterfront Park.
Hours of operation: 11AM – 9PM daily.
Responsibilities
- Greet customers warmly and create a welcoming experience
- Take food and ice cream orders accurately (in person and/or via phone or POS system)
- Answer menu questions and offer recommendations
- Process payments, handle cash, credit, and digital transactions
- Issue receipts and ensure accurate change is given
- Follow proper cash drawer and register procedures
- Ensure the front counter, dining area, and beverage/condiment stations remain clean & stocked
- Work with kitchen staff to ensure accurate and timely order delivery
- Assist with packaging take-out or delivery orders
- Create and make delectable milkshakes and soft serve ice cream for guests
Requirements
- Previous cashier or customer service experience preferred, but not required
- Basic math skills and comfort using a POS system
- Strong communication skills and a friendly personality
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Follow all food safety, hygiene, and sanitation guidelines
- Support team members as needed during busy shifts
- Maintain a positive and professional attitude with customers and coworkers
Physical Requirements
- Most work tasks are performed indoors in moderate, controlled temperatures; however, employees must be able to work in extreme temperatures like freezers (-10°F) and kitchens (+110°F), possibly for one hour or more
- Must be able to stand and exert well-paced mobility for at least 8 hours
- Must be able to maneuver between functions occurring simultaneously
- Must be able to reach other departments of the restaurant on a timely basis
- Must be able to lift trays of food or food items weighing up to 30 lbs. on a regular and continuing basis
- Must be able to push and pull carts and equipment weighing up to 250 lbs. frequently
- Requires grasping, writing, standing, sitting, walking, repetitive motions, bending, climbing, stooping, crouching, kneeling, listening, hearing, and visual acuity
- Requires manual dexterity to use and operate all necessary equipment
- Safely lift and easily maneuver plates, cases of water, chairs, and tables
