Job Summary
The Count Room Attendant is responsible for collecting and counting cash boxes from the gaming floor and conducting cash and ticket counts in the count room according to company policies and regulations.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Collects gaming device drop boxes from HRM machines, kiosks, etc., while adhering to company's Internal Control Policies and Procedures as well as local and state regulations.
- Records accurate count of each box in the count system/sheet.
- Prepares and maintains proper paperwork to support and reconcile all money and tickets counted.
- Utilizes count machines in accordance with guidelines.
- Complies with all department and company policies, procedures, internal controls, and government regulations, maintaining confidentiality where necessary.
- Responsible for minor repairs and maintenance of Count room equipment.
- Notifies Supervisor of malfunctioning equipment.
- Affords assistance to other Team Members in moving and safeguarding the box cart.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Skills And Abilities
- Ability to read, write, and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.
- Knowledge of the internal controls, regulations, policies, and procedures relating to the Finance department.
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft applications and ability to learn count room computer applications.
Education And Experience
- A high school diploma or equivalent required.
- An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
- Must obtain and maintain a valid Virginia Racing Commission License.
Physical Requirements & Working Conditions
- The Team Member must be able to work in a fast-paced and stressful environment.
- Frequent repetitive motions, manual dexterity, hand-eye coordination, standing, bending, teamwork, basic math skills, use of a 10-key calculator, and currency counter.
- Lifting, pushing, and pulling up to 25lbs.
- May be required to work with other Team Members in moving a box cart with a maximum of 400lbs.
- Long hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- The noise level in the work environment is moderate to loud.
- The work environment may vary in levels of crowds, noise, and smoke.
