About the Role
This is a professional clinical position providing counseling to children and families in the Treatment Works 3.0 (TW 3.0) program under the Families First Division. The TW 3.0 program offers children’s therapy and High-Fidelity Wrap (HFW) services designed for children involved in the juvenile justice or child welfare system. TW 3.0 serves the entire family and assists in managing behavioral health needs associated with suicide, trauma, substance use, and severe and persistent mental illness.
The Counselor functions as a member of an Integrated Decision Team (IDT) consisting of the Counselor, a Behavioral Health Case Manager, a Peer Mentor, and an IDT facilitator. The Counselor provides clinical interventions for behavioral health and substance use concerns, including safety issues and severe and persistent mental illness. Responsibilities include ensuring the client has an individualized, strength-based treatment plan developed collaboratively with the IDT team during IDT sessions.
The Counselor reports and discusses the client’s progress, barriers, interventions, safety issues, and other relevant information at IDT meetings. Services are delivered using trauma-informed care principles, addressing how trauma impacts family functioning and incorporating trauma resolution skills. The Counselor tailors services to the unique culture of the client and ensures clinical services occur in the community at a location convenient and comfortable for the family. This is a field-based position.
The Counselor is responsible for meeting an annual client-facing care requirement of 1,316 hours. Achieving the minimum required weekly, monthly, and annual client-facing hours is an essential function of this position.
Responsibilities
- Provide clinical interventions for behavioral health and substance use concerns, including safety issues and severe and persistent mental illness.
- Develop and implement individualized, strength-based treatment plans collaboratively with the Integrated Decision Team (IDT), family, and natural supports.
- Ensure treatment plans and clinical interventions address trauma impacts on family functioning using trauma resolution skills.
- Report and discuss client progress, barriers, interventions, safety issues, and other relevant information at IDT meetings.
- Deliver services using trauma-informed care principles and tailor them to the unique culture of the client.
- Provide clinical services in the community at locations convenient and comfortable for the family.
- Meet an annual client-facing care requirement of 1,316 hours.
- Utilize evidence-based treatments, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Trauma-Focused CBT.
- Acquire and apply knowledge of community resources to support clients and families.
Requirements
- Master’s degree in Counseling, Psychology, Social Work, or a related field (required).
- License in the healing arts (preferred).
- Minimum of two years of documented clinical experience working with at-risk children and families.
- CAP certification (preferred).
- Complete the Wraparound for Clinicians Training (3 hours) within 30 days of employment (preference given to those who have already completed this training).
- Sufficient clinical knowledge to provide interventions for adults and children manifesting a range of psychopathology, using individual, family, play, and group therapy approaches.
- Experience with families and children, particularly those involved in the criminal justice and/or child welfare systems.

Pay
$80,000 annually.
