Counselor Supervisor
About the role
BAART Programs, a BayMark Health Services company, is a progressive substance abuse treatment organization committed to the highest quality of patient care in a comfortable outpatient clinic setting. The Counselor Supervisor will supervise Counselors and Counselor Interns who provide treatment and casework services to patients in compliance with all applicable laws and regulations and with BayMark’s policies and procedures. The role ensures timely documentation of patient services based on the plan of care, identifies other physical, psychological, social, and spiritual needs for assigned patients, and manages related expenditures in a fiscally responsible manner.
Responsibilities
- Ensure efficient and effective delivery of counseling services to all patients.
- Monitor treatment and counseling of all patients.
- Provide clinical supervision and assign counselors’ caseloads, amending when necessary.
- Screen potential patients and determine eligibility.
- Facilitate intakes or assist with the intake process.
- Conduct quality assurance file reviews.
- Complete and submit patient death reports, as needed.
- Review and countersign assessments and treatment plans for quality and accuracy for Counselor Interns.
- Manage all counseling staff, including facilitating performance improvement discussions, documentation, and follow-up.
- Assist in new hire training and interviews for open positions.
- Participate in staff meetings.
- May be required to counsel a caseload of patients.
- Assist with monitoring employee attendance and completing incident reports.
- Provide guidance and support to counselors needing to obtain licensure and/or certification.
- Oversee counselor-related annual trainings and ensure trainings are completed.
- Facilitate employee performance discussions and evaluations.
- Communicate clinic, employee, and patient concerns to employees and leadership.
- Assist in program development activities.
- Adhere to a code of conduct conducive with BayMark Services policy.
- Meet or exceed delivery of Company Service Standards consistently.
- Travel as necessary.
- Perform other duties, as assigned.
Requirements
- Substance Use Disorder (SUD) Counselor in California with supervisory experience preferred.
- Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Behavioral Science or equivalent in experience; graduate-level degree preferred.
- Experience with SUD, the ability to develop comprehensive treatment plans, and chart accurately.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Previous experience working with chemically dependent individuals is a plus.
- Must demonstrate a positive, non-judgmental, and accepting attitude toward the patient population.
- Satisfactory drug screen and criminal background check.
Pay
Salary ranges from $71,656.00 to $73,745.00 annually. The salary of the selected candidate(s) will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, experience, education, specialty, and training.
