This role involves providing substance abuse services and education to clients and staff within the Outpatient Substance Abuse Treatment Program (OSAT).
Responsibilities
- Provide alcohol and substance abuse education in individual and group formats for chemically dependent clients.
- Perform data collections for the clinical team, including substance abuse care management services and ongoing assessment for program and clinic eligibility.
- Monitor all aspects of clients’ adherence to treatment plans and, when applicable, referral source mandates.
- Utilize diverse treatment modalities for Substance Use Disorders (SUD), including Motivational Interviewing, Stages of Change, ASAM PPC 2, and DSM Criteria.
- Complete NJSAMS data entry, voucher compliance, and monthly insurance reviews.
- Leverage knowledge of community resources to enhance clients’ recovery processes.
- Write and complete summaries for client reports and maintain documentation for DAB and observation notes.
- Maintain records, monthly reporting, and class load statistics.
- Demonstrate proficiency in case reporting and community resources.
Requirements
- Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor (CADC) or Certified Chemical Dependence Associate Certification (CCDA).
- Certified Recovery Peer Specialist (CRPS) preferred.
- BLS Certification (AHA/ARC) required upon hire.
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- If Counselor Intern or Certified Recovery Peer Specialist, must be test-ready with all class hours completed and registered with the Professional Certification Board, Inc., and the Division of Consumer Affairs.
- Experience in writing and completing client report summaries.
- Strong documentation skills for DAB and observation notes.
- Knowledge of record-keeping, monthly reporting, and class load statistics.
- Proficiency in case reporting and familiarity with community resources.
Pay
A reasonable compensation estimate for this role is $23.55 to $35.33 per hour. The exact starting compensation will be determined based on factors such as skillset, years of applicable experience, education, credentials, and licensure.
