COUNSELOR (MASTERS & LICENSED)

Job Summary

Provides full range of direct therapy services to patients and family members/significant others participating in general counseling services and specialty groups as assigned by the Director in accordance with therapist training and skill level.

Job Specifications

• Education and Experience:
  • Master's Degree in Counseling, Psychology or Social Work required.
  • State licensure (LCPC, LCSW) or ability to test for a state licensure within 2 years, is required.
  • Experience in behavioral health treatment setting preferred.
• JOB KNOWLEDGE:
  • Must have a broad base of clinical skills.
  • Must have knowledge of interdisciplinary team concept.
  • Must have knowledge of a full range of behavioral health concerns.
  • Must have an understanding of family systems, dual diagnoses and general individual and group counseling skills.
• ABILITIES, INTERESTS AND TEMPERAMENTS:
  • Ability to communicate verbally and in writing with people of diverse backgrounds and education levels.
  • Ability to accept different viewpoints, support new treatment ideas and modalities.
  • Must practice the fundamental professional attitude of “acceptance”.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of all information.
  • Ability to assess patient needs and to develop individual treatment plans for assigned patients.
  • Ability to facilitate individual, family, couple, and group sessions.
  • Ability to establish and maintain positive working relationship with community referral sources.
  • Must have the ability to work with a variety of patients of all populations (e.g. developmentally appropriate care, cultural diversity, patients with pain, victims of abuse or neglect, and a variety of mental health and substance use diagnoses).

Actual pay will be determined by experience, skills and internal equity. Expected pay for this position is $26.06-$44.75.
