Counselor II/III - (NKSP)

About the Role

Amity Foundation is an internationally acclaimed teaching and therapeutic community dedicated to the inclusion and habilitation of people marginalized by addiction, homelessness, trauma, criminality, incarceration, poverty, racism, sexism, and violence. The organization focuses on research, development, implementation, and dissemination of information regarding community building. The Counselor II/III (Integrated Substance Use Disorder Treatment Program) will deliver face‑to‑face rehabilitative programming services within the prison and re‑entry programs.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate CBI classes using evidence‑based and standardized curriculum.
• Conduct class and individual sessions to develop release prevention/action plans and provide make‑up work.
• Evaluate and document the progress of participants assigned to classes.
• Document delivery of CBI programming services in ARMS.
• Engage participants daily, reinforcing group norms and expectations for participation and completion.
• Work collaboratively with CDCR/CCHCS headquarters, local institution, CDCR‑contracted staff, and other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Certified AOD Counselor (required for Counselor II).
• For Counselor III: Certified AOD Counselor with at least one (1) year of full‑time experience providing certified AOD counseling services.
• Must hold a certification recognized for work inside a state prison (e.g., CAADE, BBS, CADTP, CCAPP).

Pay

$32.00 per hour (range $32 – $32).

Schedule

Full‑time, on‑site work performed inside a state prison.
