Position Overview
Nelson University seeks a highly qualified adjunct faculty member with a PhD in Counselor Education & Supervision from a CACREP-accredited program to begin teaching in Fall 2027. This position is within the Department of Behavioral Sciences and Community Services.
Primary Responsibilities
- Teach assigned counseling and counselor education courses beginning Fall 2027.
- Deliver instruction aligned with CACREP standards where applicable.
- Integrate Christian faith and professional counseling identity in course engagement.
- Facilitate applied learning, case analysis, and professional skill development.
- Provide timely, substantive feedback to students.
- Submit required course documentation and assessment materials.
Minimum Qualifications
- Preferred: State licensure as a Licensed Professional Counselor
- Required: Earned doctoral degree in Counselor Education & Supervision
- Graduate of a CACREP-accredited program
- ABD candidates with a clear timeline toward completion of the terminal degree may be considered
Professional Qualifications
- Documented professional counseling/clinical experience
- Experience teaching in an online format preferred
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to engage students from diverse backgrounds
- Commitment to collaboration and program development
Compensation
Compensation is determined according to established distance education pay scales and is based on credentials and teaching assignments.
