About the Role

This is a professional position providing counseling for the Cooperative Agreement to Benefit Homeless Individuals (CABHI) under the Behavioral Health and Homeless Prevention program within the Housing First Division. The CABHI program provides counseling and case management services to individuals, youth, and families who have experienced homelessness and have a severe and persistent mental health condition or co-occurring disorder. This program focuses on formally homeless individuals, youth, and families who have recently been housed in permanent or permanent supportive housing.

Responsible for meeting productivity requirements of 75%, including 1,440 billable hours annually or a minimum of 30 billable hours per week.

Directions for Living is an essential services provider. All team members must be willing and able to provide vital support and essential services to the people we serve in the event of an emergency, pandemic, or other disaster situation.

Responsibilities

  • Provide clinical intervention with adults and children who manifest a range of psychopathology, utilizing various treatment approaches including individual, family, play, and group therapy
  • Transport clients as needed in personal vehicles as part of service provision

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Counseling, Psychology, Social Work, or related field required
  • Knowledge of DSM-IV and ICD-9 diagnostic codes preferred
  • Basic knowledge of psychotropic medications
  • Sufficient clinical knowledge to address individual psychopathology and normal childhood development
  • Acquire knowledge of community resources
