Counselor
Description
This position is responsible for providing counseling services to students at Grove City College.
This position will perform initial intake assessments on students presenting for counseling, develop treatment plans with each student, which may include group counseling in addition to individual counseling, refer students to other services, both campus- and community-based as needed, and collaborate with other treatment providers to provide continuity of care as indicated. Facility and expertise in diagnosis, case conceptualization, and treatment interventions are essential.
This position is also responsible for providing consultation services to students, parents, and staff; providing crisis intervention to students as needed; participating in on-call rotation to provide 24-hour coverage when students are on campus; and providing psycho-educational training to various groups on campus as needed.
Requirements
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- A master's degree in mental health counseling, psychology, or a related field.
- A minimum of five years of related experience.
- Licensed, pursuing licensure, or willing to pursue licensure in counseling or a related field.
- Demonstration of a willingness to integrate personal faith with best practices in the field, and an aptitude for responding to the desire of the client for integrating faith in individual sessions.
- A strong, demonstrated understanding of and commitment to the Christian mission and vision of Grove City College.
- This position is expected to share the College's Christian commitments outlined in the College's statement of faith.
