Counselor

About the Role

A Cabin Counselor serves alongside a co-counselor as a Christian role model while living with, supervising, mentoring, and leading a cabin of 12-17 campers. This is a seasonal, on-site position from May 31, 2026, to August 8, 2026.

Responsibilities

• Directly oversee 12-17 campers
• Work in unison with a co-counselor
• Supervise an area of camp during free time
• Spend time with kids when not on duty during free time
• Lead and participate in special events
• Lead nightly devotionals for campers

Requirements

• At least 18 years of age, preferably one full year out of high school
• Able to work on your feet, be outside all day, lift up to 50 lbs, and walk up to 5 miles in a day
• Signed agreement of CLM Summer Staff Handbook
• Successful completion of CLM Orientation Training Program

Qualifications

• Professing Christian that commits to follow the mission and vision of Camp Lurecrest Ministries
• Displays leadership skills, maturity, and safety consciousness
• Must be a team player with a strong work ethhip
• Able to complete job tasks while being attentive to camper experience and overall safety
• Respond with grace in high-stress situations
• Willing to teach and invest in campers

Staff will live, eat, and serve on-site, modeling the values of CLM as outlined in the Summer Staff Handbook and contract both on and off the job.
