About the role
The counselor assists in providing counseling services to university students and supervises interns who provide these services.
Qualifications
- Master’s Degree in counseling or a closely related field (minimum requirement)
- PA licensed preferred, PA license eligibility required
- Excellent verbal, writing, and organizational skills
- May require out of hours response to campus emergencies/other university events and programs
- Passion for work in higher education
- Capacity to conduct seminars and presentations
- Able to work effectively with a wide diversity of populations
- Sensitive to issues of ethnicity, disability, and diversity
Skills
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Knowledge of counseling theories and techniques
