About the Role

As the Occupational Therapist Assistant at Caretenders, a part of LHC Group and the Optum family of businesses, you will provide occupational therapy to patients to restore them to their fullest physical ability. You'll create meaningful connections with patients, their families, and the communities we serve while embracing a culture of Caring, Connecting, and Growing together.

Responsibilities

  • Follow all state-specific laws governing the provision of occupational therapy in home care, adhering to the treatment plan set by the supervising Occupational Therapist (OT).
  • Follow the plan of care, instructing and aiding patients in evidence-based treatment within the scope of the occupational therapy assistant and according to state laws.
  • Observe, record, and report the patient's response to treatment and any changes in condition to the nurse supervisor and physician.
  • Instruct patients, families, caregivers, and other healthcare team members in therapy techniques within the scope of the occupational therapy assistant.
  • Function effectively in any home situation, regardless of the client's age, race, creed, color, sex, disability, or financial condition.

Requirements

  • Current Occupational Therapy Assistant licensure in the state of practice.
  • Current driver's license and vehicle insurance, access to a dependable vehicle, or reliable public transportation.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Current CPR certification or ability to complete within 90 days of hire.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Good communication, writing, and organizational skills.

Pay

Annual total cash target pay range: $48,175 - $72,263.

  • Hourly rate: $23.16 - $34.74.
  • Per visit point rate: $27.79 - $41.69.

Annual total cash compensation assumes full-time employment (40 weekly hours) at full productivity and generally follows the range above. Total cash compensation includes earnings from per visit point pay and hourly pay, based on factors such as local labor markets, education, work experience, and may increase over time based on productivity and performance.

This role receives two types of compensation depending on the work performed:

  • For visits: Paid per visit point rate, calculated by multiplying the per visit point rate by the productivity points accrued for various types of visits. Each visit type is assigned a certain number of productivity points, inclusive of "direct" and "indirect" patient care activities. The number of visits per week varies based on individual productivity targets and business needs.
  • For non-visit activities (e.g., orientation): Paid at the hourly rate.
