About the role
The Occupational Therapist Assistant is responsible for assisting the Occupational Therapist by providing rehabilitative therapy to patients upon completion of the evaluation and plan of care following all regulatory and clinical practice requirements. This includes recovery, improvement in function and when possible, a return to a prior level of functioning. Clinical documentation will describe objective measures and justification for continued or discontinued services.
Responsibilities
- Assist Occupational Therapist in providing rehabilitative therapy to patients
- Follow all regulatory and clinical practice requirements
- Document objective measures and justification for services
- Support patient recovery and improvement in function
- Work towards a return to a prior level of functioning when possible
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program
- Current and active State license/registration where applicable
- One year’s experience in long-term care or related setting preferred
