About the Role

Location: Bryant Park, NY

Duration: 3 years

Responsibilities

  • Review and analyze blueprints, specifications, and other documentation presented by the client to accurately prepare and estimate projects.
  • Collaborate with project leads and leadership to develop estimates as part of the larger scope package.
  • Prepare detail-oriented and accurate estimates on new projects and estimate prices for any change orders on existing contracts, meeting assigned deadlines.
  • Estimate all necessary shop labor and field installation, and determine materials, buyout items, and equipment costs to prepare a thorough bid estimate.
  • Read and interpret job bid instructions and detailed specifications; prepare a "take off" of materials included in the job and estimate all necessary labor, materials, buyout items, and equipment costs (including specialty equipment like lifts or generators) to prepare a thorough price estimate.
  • Work directly with Sales and Pre-construction Teams to understand the size and scope of projects along with timelines and applicable project deadlines.
  • Be comfortable discussing alternative recommendations on projects in which management requires value engineering or alternative estimates to meet client needs.
  • Prepare pricing estimates on new projects and change orders on existing contracts, and summarize results with appropriate leaders to ensure complete job coverage.

Requirements

  • Experience: 5 years of experience in construction estimation.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present and explain estimates to internal teams and external stakeholders.
  • Analytical Skills: Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Software Proficiency: Proficient in construction estimation software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Team Player: Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and build effective working relationships.

Pay

The estimated salary for this position is $45 - $58/hour.

Schedule

Day shift, 40 hours a week (full time).
