Job Title: Cost Engineer
Reporting To: Negotiator, Group
Schedule: Hybrid – Buffalo, NY
Responsibilities
- Develop, analyze, evaluate, coordinate, prepare, and support cost proposals to both government and commercial customers.
- Ensure compliance with customer specifications, Moog's policies and procedures, and Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR).
- Act as a key leader of the proposal team(s) and build pricing models based on RFP and Moog requirements.
- Review Requests for Proposals (RFP) and proposal documents for compliance with customer specifications and company policy.
- Ensure Moog Estimating System compliance and provide interpretation of RFP requirements.
- Interact with personnel and management at all levels; interface and coordinate with other business management personnel on a daily basis.
- Lead reviews of all estimates prior to delivery with review by senior management.
- Prepare and present cost estimates to management, customer representatives, and government audit agencies.
- Support audit requests, fact-finding, and negotiation discussions and the program budget baseline process.
- Support the front-end business acquisition process by developing cost and pricing models.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 3 years of relevant experience in cost engineering or a related field.
- Ability to access U.S. export-controlled information.
- Practical knowledge of sales and/or costing principles and practices.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Able to travel approximately 20% to customers and Moog sites to support training and negotiations.

Skills
- Pricing, sales or contract related experience.
- Data Analysis and/or Data Analytics Knowledge.
- Understanding of Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) and Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement (DFARS), Truth in Negotiations Act (TINA) and Cost Accounting Standards (CAS).

Pay
Buffalo, NY: $75,000.00–$95,000.00 Annually
