About the Role

As a member of the Cost Engineering team, you will perform various tasks pertaining to financial projections, cost planning and analysis, special projects, and process management in a fast-paced department. You will be expected to learn quickly and apply tasking across several functional areas including financial planning & analysis, management reporting, and cost engineering.

Responsibilities

  • Review each Project’s key contract terms in the development of Project budgets
  • Develop, maintain, and review monthly/weekly productivity reports
  • Develop, review, and discuss Staff, Equipment, and Expense Charts with the Project Team
  • Develop, review, and discuss monthly projections vs. project Plan with the Project Team
  • Identify any projected cost overages and help in the development of recovery plans
  • Discuss and review with select projects concerning controlling costs in projections as needed
  • Manage Project Audits with the Project Team and Outside Auditors as needed
  • Identify negative trends (Project or Company Wide) prior to affecting profitability

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college/university
  • 3+ years of experience
  • Highly motivated individual with a strong work ethic and organizational skills
  • Strong quantitative, analytical, and financial modeling skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Comprehension of job cost management, concepts, and methodologies
  • Careful attention to detail and reliability of output
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word is required
  • Knowledge/coursework in project management, commercial real estate, and/or construction is preferred but not required
  • Self-starter with the ability to work independently to achieve common objectives

Work Environment

The role is physically active and hands-on, requiring frequent movement on active job sites with uneven terrain, stairs, ladders, and hoists. The work is physically demanding, involving bending, kneeling, reaching, and lifting/carrying materials up to 25 pounds (occasionally up to 50 pounds). Effective communication and visual acuity for reading plans and inspecting work are essential.

You will spend significant time on active construction sites, exposed to various weather conditions, moderate to loud noise levels, and elevated or confined work areas with moving mechanical equipment. Time will also be spent in a typical office setting with moderate noise levels for tasks like computer work, document review, and meetings.

Safety is a top priority; you must follow Clark Construction's safety policies and procedures, as well as all applicable laws, at all locations.

Schedule

This is a demanding, high-performance environment requiring flexibility to work extended hours, especially during critical project phases or client deadlines. You may need to monitor and respond to communications (phone calls, emails, text messages) outside regular working hours for time-sensitive matters or emergencies.

A pre-employment drug screening and random quarterly drug tests are required as part of maintaining a drug-free workplace.
