About the role
The Cost and Pricing Manager reports to the Negotiator, Group and works in a hybrid schedule in East Aurora, New York. This role plays a critical part in ensuring compliance with customer requirements, Moog policies and procedures, and applicable federal regulations, including the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR).
Responsibilities
- Lead and directly manage the Cost Engineering team, providing coaching, training, talent development, and ongoing support.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives across cost estimating and pricing processes, tools, and ways of working.
- Ensure compliance with the cost estimating system and related processes across multiple domestic sites to enable accurate, compliant, and defensible product and program cost estimates.
- Develop and support pricing strategies for the Space Division.
- Clearly communicate the financial point of view—including cost estimates, assumptions, risks, and opportunities—to senior leadership to enable informed pricing decisions.
- Collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders across Moog, as well as customer and government representatives, to achieve objectives related to profitability and compliance.
- Maintain and strengthen customer relationships while operating in the often challenging and sometimes adversarial environment of contract price negotiations.
- Aid in interviewing, hiring, performance evaluation, mentoring, and professional development of team members.
- Support audits, fact-finding activities, negotiation discussions, and the program budget baseline process.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Engineering, or a related discipline (MBA preferred).
- Minimum of five (5) years of experience in Pricing, Cost Engineering, or a related function.
- Strong working knowledge of Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR), Truth in Negotiations Act (TINA), and Cost Accounting Standards (CAS).
- Experience supporting pricing activities and/or contract negotiations.
- Willingness and ability to travel to customer locations and Moog sites to support training and negotiations.
- Ideal experience: Prior direct people leadership or supervisory experience.
- Background in manufacturing engineering, engineering, or assembly and test environments.
