What you’ll do
- Maintain and analyze standard costs for products and services
- Complete daily settlement of production orders and inventory adjustments
- Prepare cost accounting reports and financial analyses
- Monitor inventory transactions and reconcile inventory accounts
- Conduct monthly, quarterly, and annual cost variance analyses
- Analyze manufacturing, labor, material, and overhead costs
- Aid in budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities
- Review and validate bills of materials (BOMs) and routing information
- Support month-end and year-end closing processes
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards, company policies, and internal controls
- Prepare journal entries related to inventory and cost accounting
- Investigate cost discrepancies and recommend corrective actions
- Collaborate with operations, procurement, production, and finance teams to improve cost efficiency
- Develop and maintain cost accounting procedures and documentation
- Generate management reports highlighting cost trends and performance metrics
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 2–5 years of accounting or cost accounting experience
- Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting/ERP systems
- Experience with business intelligence and reporting tools
