Summary of Responsibilities
- Lead and assist with month-end and weekly close tasks, including journal entries, accruals, and variance analysis.
- Prepare and analyze plant financial reporting packages for Corporate and local management.
- Perform monthly subledger-to-GL reconciliations, including inventory, fixed assets, AR, AP, and intercompany accounts.
- Prepare weekly and monthly bank reconciliations.
Costing, Inventory & Profitability
- Manage standard cost updates, cost rolls, and variance analysis (PPV, labor, overhead, absorption, etc.).
- Conduct profitability analyses by customer, program, and product line versus budget and forecast.
- Lead and coordinate the Annual Physical Inventory and cycle count program; ensure timely reconciliation and follow-through on adjustments.
- Support continuous improvement of inventory accuracy and shop-floor controls.
Budgeting, Forecasting & Financial Planning
- Support the Annual Budget and Midyear Forecast cycles for plant operations.
- Track weekly results versus budget and forecast, highlighting opportunities and risks.
- Track and reconcile Capital Expenditure budgets and fixed asset activity.
Internal Controls, Compliance & Audit
- Avoidance of internal audit requirements (internal, external, interim, and year-end).
- Perform internal control activities, including participating in shop-floor audits.
- Ensure compliance with SOX or other applicable control frameworks.
- Aid in developing and deploying finance-related policies and procedures plant-wide.
Cross-Functional & Intercompany Collaboration
- Coordinate with Operations, Supply Chain, Purchasing, Engineering, and Corporate Finance to process customer, supplier, and intercompany transactions.
- Perform global intercompany accounting and reconciliation.
- Aid in various special projects, financial analysis requests, and process improvement initiatives.
- Aid Plant Accounting with month-end and weekly close tasks.
Minimum Skills and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or closely related field.
- 3–5 years of relevant accounting or cost accounting experience preferred.
- Strong understanding of manufacturing cost accounting, variance analysis, and inventory management.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word; advanced Excel skills a plus.
- Experience with PLEX, SAP, Oracle, or other ERP systems required.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Highly organized with excellent time-management skills and the ability to prioritize effectively.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with attention to detail.
- Able to work independently, collaboratively, and under tight deadlines.
- Flexible, adaptable, and capable of taking on new or challenging tasks with limited guidance.
- Comfortable working with team members at all levels of the organization.
