About the role
The Cost Accountant directs activities of product costing, product manufacturing analysis, and inventory valuation. The position provides recommendations to management in support of the achievement of Company goals. Position reports to the Director of Global Cost.
Responsibilities
- Perform month end close activities related to Cost Accounting.
- Prepare various financial analysis related to manufacturing costs, inventory, and expense information as needed for decision making support.
- Review set up new raw material, packaging, WIP (work in progress), and FG (Finished Good) items;
- Review Production BOMs (BILL OF MATERIAL) and routers; maintain periodic cost rolls/updates.
- Analyze changes in product design, raw materials, manufacturing methods, or services provided, to determine effects on costs.
- Analyze actual production costs and prepare periodic reports comparing standard costs to actual production costs.
- Record cost information for use in controlling expenditures.
- Prepare estimates of new and proposed product or service costs.
- Provide management with reports specifying and comparing factors affecting prices and profitability of products or services.
- Develop and maintain standard costs of finished goods and production components in a worldwide ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) system.
- Maintain and improve processes and controls associated with manufacturing costs and inventory valuation.
- Aid in developing and documenting policies and procedures, including system requirements and internal controls.
- Represent Finance/Accounting on teams designed to improve operations, reduce costs, etc.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or Finance – Medical Manufacturing industry experience a plus.
- Hands on ERP experience – Netsuite and/or Oracle preferred.
- 5+ years of accounting experience; 3+ years cost accounting preferred.
- 3+ years of operational experience, especially with inventory.
- Excellent analytical skills with a strong focus on accuracy and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills and high confidence in stating professional opinions.
- Level of English: Advanced.
- Strong grasp of GAAP accounting and general accounting concepts.
- Extremely strong Excel skills, especially advanced financial modeling and analytical techniques.
- Demonstrated ability to streamline and automate complex processes.
- CMA, CPCA or CCA preferred.
Qualifications
- Minimum basic qualifications include a bachelor's degree in accounting or finance.
- Experience in the medical manufacturing industry is a plus.
- ERP experience, preferably with Netsuite and/or Oracle.
- At least 5 years of accounting experience, with 3 years in cost accounting.
- At least 3 years of operational experience, particularly with inventory.
- Strong analytical skills, with a focus on accuracy and attention to detail.
- Effective communication skills and confidence in professional opinions.
- Advanced level of English proficiency.
- Strong understanding of GAAP accounting and general accounting concepts.
- Advanced Excel skills, including financial modeling and analytical techniques.
- Proven ability to streamline and automate complex processes.
- Preferred certifications include CMA, CPCA, or CCA.

Pay
Compensation is commensurate with experience.

This position may be based at any of the following Enovis locations: Austin, Texas, Houston, Texas, Lewisville, Texas. Candidates must be able to work from one of these office locations in accordance with the role's onsite/hybrid work requirements.
