Cosmetology Instructor Training/Cosmetology Dual Enrollment Associate Instructor

About the role

The Tennessee College of Applied Technology Murfreesboro is seeking a full-time faculty member to teach in the Cosmetology Instructor Training/Dual Enrollment Instructor program. This position is part of the Instruction and Accreditation department and reports to the Vice President of Instruction and Accreditation.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement training programs in Cosmetology.
• Confer with administration to stay updated on policies, procedures, and technologies.
• Select or develop teaching aids and instructional methods.
• Maintain student records and reports.
• Work with advisory committees and industry partners.
• Instruct students on safety practices.
• Participate in professional development.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED, with an associate degree preferred.
• Valid Cosmetologist license from the TN Board of Cosmetology.
• Valid Cosmetology Instructor license or ability to obtain one before program start.
• Minimum of three (3) years of full-time experience in teaching, training, or salon management.
• Knowledge of all areas of the instructional field.

Qualifications

• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to motivate a diverse student population.
• Computer skills necessary to be an effective instructor.
• Ability to learn and use classroom management best practices and individualized instructional techniques.

SkillsPrior teaching experience is a plus.

Schedule

Full-time position requiring a minimum 37.5-hour workweek (Monday – Friday).
