About the role
As a COS Supervisor at Schindler, you will manage the automation of the Supply Chain Order Processing System (KW) from receipt of elevator specifications through material ordering and industrialization of components. You will ensure quality of the ordering system through extensive coordination with Supply Chain departments and thorough configuration testing, while leading a team of technical experts in the United States and offshore.
Responsibilities
- Manage overall process on Supply Chain and system development from Sales Order COS (Component Ordering Specification) to SAP BOM (Bill of Material) configuration and material master data maintenance for components.
- Ensure product changes are implemented in SAP according to the Change Period (CP) schedule and track changes through the closed‑loop INDU (Industrialization) process and KW configuration for purchased and manufactured components.
- Act as a cross‑functional leader, identifying and engaging key stakeholders (Material Planning, Quality, Operations, Strategic Sourcing, Supplier Development, etc.) to secure buy‑in and participation in required change processes.
- Lead and facilitate organizational change initiatives, developing strategies, communicating effectively, and building support for smooth transitions.
- Define strategies for process improvement of configuration and INDU activities to reduce quality issues for modular and complex product changes and introductions.
- Drive process improvements targeting change management and new product introduction to enhance safety, quality, inventory, delivery, and cost initiatives.
- Manage Super BOMs and product data to align with product features, sales, and manufacturing needs; guide the team in preparing manufacturing BOMs from engineering to supply chain.
- Lead Variant Configurator programming to ensure alignment with engineering documentation.
- Guide personnel in establishing variable pricing for configured products and maintain pricing variants in the Configurator.
- Set objectives, conduct performance reviews, and create development plans for the team.
- Build an in‑house training program, conduct skill assessments, foster team building, and encourage shared learning in configuration and industrialization.
- Guide the team and define validation process strategies for modular industrialization and configuration systems.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related field.
- At least 60 months (5 years) of experience in the offered position or other closely related positions; experiences may be concurrent.
Pay
Wage Range: $114,500 to $171,600 per year
